How does the split work?
Everything is totalled and divided equally across everyone in the group. We then compute the fewest transfers that settle all balances — so instead of everyone paying everyone, you get the shortest "who owes whom" list.
Is my data saved anywhere?
No server, no account. Your split is encoded into the page link itself and cached only in your own browser. Share the link to share the result.
Can everyone edit the same split?
Yes — open the shared link, add an expense, and copy the new link back to the group. The latest link always holds the full ledger.
Does it handle different currencies?
The splitter works in a single currency per trip — choose it at the top. For multi-currency trips, convert amounts to one currency first, or run a separate split per currency.
What if someone paid more than their share?
The per-person balance shows each person's net position. Anyone in the positive was effectively owed money by the group and will receive transfers; anyone negative owes.
💡 Splits equally across everyone in the group. For uneven shares (e.g. someone skipped a meal), add that cost only against the people involved as a separate group, or adjust amounts.
